Bibiana Badia (Tijuana, Mexico, 1978) is a Mexican visual artist and sculptor whose practice explores perception, the body, memory, identity, and states of vulnerability. Working primarily with wood, she combines traditional carving and ancestral charring techniques with intuitive embroidery, textiles, silver leaf, and minerals. Her work investigates the tension between the solidity of wood and the delicacy of fiber, creating sculptural forms and ritual-like objects that evoke the unconscious, transformation, and the ways we construct and conceal identity.

Oculta explores the search for identity and the instinctive need to conceal ourselves. Through a series of masks, the work reflects on the emotional layers we adopt and remove—revealing how we hide what we feel, how we relate to others, and who we are beneath those shifting identities.
